Remote Go-live: SNP migrates TÜV Rheinland with BLUEFIELD™ powered by CrystalBridge© to SAP S/4HANA
SNP continues to expand its pioneering position in the area of migration to SAP S/4HANA: For the testing service provider TÜV Rheinland, the transformation specialist has now carried out the changeover to S/4 quickly, securely, and above all completely remotely. A total of four clients were successfully consolidated and optimized in two waves into one S/4HANA system.
Project implemented remotely despite corona
Despite the increasing global spread of COVID-19 and the associated limitations, all activities in the final project phase were carried out remotely, on schedule and within the given time frame and all agreed objectives were achieved. Thus SNP has once again proven its core competence in implementing projects remotely – an important aspect for SNP customers and partners especially in times of Corona.
From 4 to 1
The aim of the project was to transfer the four clients of the SAP system to a single client on an SAP S/4HANA Finance system. The challenge included cleaning up the 20-year-old ERP system and harmonizing numerous in-house developments as well as over 42,000 accounts in the accounting department, over 1,000 individually created tables and over 1,500 workflows. The focus was on the technical transformation to the SAP HANA database, the implementation of the Business Partner including harmonization of the customer master records, the introduction of a harmonized chart of accounts, the consolidation of the existing clients and the implementation of the New General Ledger.
Final migration in one weekend
The merge of the four SAP clients took place in two roll-out waves. This project was implemented using the BLUEFIELD approach. The two migrations to SAP S/4HANA took place in just one regular weekend.
TÜV Rheinland was impressed by the flexibility of the CrystalBridge© – The Data Transformation Platform – to combine several requirements in one project as well as to perform corrections and re-migrations for individual objects within minutes during the test phase.
