  • -  New CrystalBridge® cloud solution is designed to deliver comprehensive assessment, with SAP system sizing for IBM Cloud migrations.
  • -  Provides flexible support and cost transparency for different IBM Cloud target configurations, including IBM Power Virtual Server.
  • -  SNP and IBM to establish joint competence center in the new IBM Innovation Center for SAP solutions.

Heidelberg, Germany, August 17, 2021 – SNP Schneider-Neureither & Partner SE, a world-leading provider of software solutions for digital transformation processes and automated data migrations in the SAP environment, has developed new move to cloud software for IBM Cloud migrations. “Cloud Move for IBM” is part of SNP’s data transformation platform CrystalBridge® which offers automated solutions for IT and business transformations including cloud projects. Cloud Move for IBM is tailored to help customers assess the specific sizing requirements for IBM Cloud for SAP workloads to ease the migration process.

The new offering enables automated solutions for IT and business transformations, as companies migrate mission-critical SAP workloads to hybrid cloud environments. Customers can harness the new software to adapt the cloud sizing to their specific business needs. CrystalBridge® automatically calculates the ideal size of the target SAP system in IBM Cloud based on a scan of the current SAP system running on-premises and offers various deployment and flexible filtering options. It is designed to provide customers with cloud sizing in real time and with full cost transparency.

The new software was developed to enable both partners and end customers to plan and prepare cloud migration projects with speed and accuracy. This new cloud infrastructure analysis offering for IBM Cloud is an extension to the Analysis module of CrystalBridge® that supplies a comprehensive evaluation of SAP landscapes. In addition, the process analysis solution developed with IBM analyzes the impact of the SAP S/4HANA® migration on the business processes of customers. The solution provides customers with a reliable basis for making decisions on a wide variety of transformation scenarios, which can significantly reduce project preparation time. Enterprises can migrate their SAP S/4HANA workloads to the IBM Cloud by harnessing the IBM Rapid Move for SAP S/4 HANA approach coupled with more than 200 IBM Cloud services.

“As the pace of transformation for enterprises around the world continues to accelerate, many are looking for ways to migrate their mission-critical workloads to hybrid cloud environments in a secure and efficient manner that frees them up for innovation,” said Keith Costello, General Manager Global SAP Business at IBM. “We are continuing to build on our SAP offerings to give clients new ways to migrate their SAP workloads to the secured and open IBM Cloud as they digitally transform. SNP’s solution is one example of how we are enabling this transformation.”

With the new move to cloud solution, SNP is enhancing its collaboration with IBM and strengthening its position as an enabler for modern business models. Michael Eberhardt, CEO of SNP, sees great advantages in the collaboration: “IBM offers us the opportunity to work together to help ensure a secured path to the IBM Cloud and SAP S/4HANA for thousands of customers, leveraging capabilities from the IBM Cloud, IBM Systems Group and IBM Global Business Services divisions. Our automated assessment for sizing during the cloud move and our support for the SAP S/4HANA transition are available to customers at attractive prices.”

SNP and IBM establish joint competence center in Germany

As of July 2021, the new IBM Innovation Center for SAP Solutions in Walldorf (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) also provides customers with access to a central point of contact with the combined expertise of both companies. SNP and IBM experts work closely together here and share their knowledge to enable customers to capitalize on historical data on the path to SAP S/4HANA and to benefit from a highly automated migration process.

Tanja Scheller, Director of the IBM Innovation Center for SAP Solutions, sees key benefits for customers in the joint competence center: “IBM Cloud provides the flexibility, performance and security our customers need to run their mission-critical SAP landscapes in the cloud. In our SNP and IBM joint competence center, as part of the new IBM Innovation Center for SAP Solutions, we advise our customers on how to harness IBM Cloud combined with the new move to cloud component from SNP for a simplified and efficient path to the cloud.”

SNP is part of IBM’s partner ecosystem, an initiative to support partners of all types -- whether they build on, service or resell IBM technologies and platforms -- to help clients manage and modernize workloads with Red Hat OpenShift for any cloud environment, including IBM Cloud. IBM Cloud is the industry’s most secure and open public cloud for business. With its security leadership, enterprise-grade capabilities and support for open-source technologies, IBM Cloud is designed to differentiate and extend on hybrid cloud capabilities for enterprise workloads.
